Adrian Marple Appointed Director of Music at Inverness Cathedral

Inverness Cathedral have just announced that they are delighted to have appointed Adrian Marple as our new Director of Music. This appointment follows the news that Bert Richardson is retiring. Adrian will take up the post towards the end of March 2022.

Adrian has been involved in church music for most of his life. Originally from Wolverhampton, he was a chorister at St Peter’s Church, where he began organ lessons. This passion for organ music led him to further study at the Birmingham Conservatoire, Durham University and the Royal Academy of Music.

He has latterly been Director of Music at Stoke College, and St Mary’s Church in Bury St Edmunds, and has performed recitals or played for services in many major venues both here and abroad.

Adrian commented to Keith Harrington “I’m really excited to be taking up this post and intend to promote and draw more public attention to the magnificent instrument that it will be my joy to play. I've stated before that it is by far the best digital organ I've ever played and is also among the best organs of either type I've played too”.
